Pass The Brush Program
More Artists. More Art.
We approach our work with an abundance mindset: the more murals that are out there, the more people will desire them on their walls. We want to see more ages, faces, races and cultures represented in the public art sector.
Once a year, we will open applications to promising young artists who have an exceptional story to tell. This program provides a crash course in what it’s like to be a muralist.
Selected P.T.B. Interns complete an entire Mural project from consultation to application as a member of the Smock & Roll team. After mural completion, Alli & Caroline sit down and cover the do’s and don’ts of building your own creative business. Interns leave with a revamped portfolio, hands on experience, and a PDF of resources to help you on your path forward.

Mina AKA Chromeleon was our first ever Pass The Brush intern! Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Mina is 19, incredibly unique and has a wide range of interests in all facets of the art world.

How old were you when you started making art?
3. Grabbing a piece of paper and doodling. Was I good? No. Did I still do it, yeah! *laughs* And I just went from there.
Why do you you like to make art?
Art is high key the closest you get to someone’s consciousness. It is your thoughts on paper.
What would you say inspires you the most artistically?
Cartoons inspired me heavily. They’re fun, vibrant, poppy, and not too serious.
When you don’t know what to draw, what’s your default??
Frogs. Long arms. Facial expressions, too!
If you could do a creative collaboration with anyone, who would you do it with and what would you do?
I would LOVE to animate a little sequence of “Walking on the Sun” by Smashmouth. It’s a GROOVY song.
What is a creative goal of yours?
To have my art be recognizable. To have someone be like, “Oh that looks like a CHROMELEON piece”.
